My 2yr old son has starting climbing out of his crib. I have a toddler bed, that he has seen, jumped on, lied down on, and puts his toys on. Just haven't been able to get him to sleep on it.

Any ideas on how to get him to actually sleep in his toddler bed?

having a similar problem with my 2 year old son. baby 2 is arriving in September and would like him settled in "big bed" before then! he loves talking about his bed but what we have started to do is put him to bed in his cot and just before we go to bed move him into his bed. He wakens much earlier but is getting used to it and not dangerously climbing out of his cot!
started putting him to bed now and seems to be working. if he would revert back to his routine sleeping pattern we would nearly be there.
he has had the bed in his room since his second birthday and I think has just got used to it. wants to sleep in big bed as opposed to cot now!

good luck!!

I just bought a king single for my daughter and put her staight in it with one of those rail on the side of it. She was really excited about having a big bed and getting to sleep in it that she just did it. Yes at first she used to get out every now and again but I just made sure that there was nothing she couldn't have in her room.

I got my daughter to sleep in the bed for day naps and in her cot at night untill she got comfortable with it, then I asked her one night if shed like to try the bed and she did. I also took her to the shops and she chose a special new blanket for her special new bed.

i had the same problem with my daughter...so i ended up leaving her crib and toddler bed in her room...she slept in the crib for two more weeks...then 1 day i decided to try the bed again since she now knows what it is and has been able to play on it and whatever else...and she did fine...so then i left the crib in her roon just in case we had a problem...after 1 whole week of her sleeping in the bed i took the crib out and got rid of it...

he might just be afraid of it...let him explore it by leaving it in his room for about a week or so then
