I had the implanon put in January of 2009...my arm was really sore for a few days then it would be sore if i touched it for about 2 weeks if i remember right.....but then i started to get migraines and that was the only thing that my doctor and i could figure out that was causing my migraines.......so i had it removed on the 23 of July......and i am now thinkin that i am prego...but i guess i'll wait and see.....i would just call the doctor and make sure he thinks its ok.

I'm a medical receptionist for a doctor who routinely does the Implanon procedure and from what I understand it really shouldn't hurt beyond the first couple of days. You should get your doctor to check the placement, as I know they can move.

It's not supposed to hurt. I had implanon put in, it was great for a year then I was heavy bleeding for 3 months, After that I decided to get it out but a month after I got it taken out I was pregnant but still bleeding for a couple of months. Since I got implanon my period hasn't been regular and its been 3 years this christmas since I had it removed.
