Is five years too long to wait before conceiving again?

I was worried about that too but now am glad I waited. I'm pregnant and my almost 5 year old is supportive, loving, and self sufficient in a lot of ways. He understands what is going on and loves to help. He excited to have his baby sister but will still retain a certain amount of independence in his life and his own activities without having to worry about overlapping lives with her in school and other areas. Out of all the families I've nannied for, the kids who always got along the best with their sibling were further apart in age and able to have their own life outside the home. I'm excited to see the dynamic between them.

My sister and I are just shy of 5 years apart and she is my best friend. My kids are all right around 3 years apart.

depends on your family my kids are 8 years apart but are from 2 different fathers as my sons father and I are divorced. It is hard having such a big gap between the 2 as my youngest always wants the older one to play with her and he is 11 now and a boy so has no interest in playing barbies or house or tea party which are her favorite games.
