it depends on if dr thinks there's a need - i had one at 9 weeks and at 19 weeks and that was it...i wanted to find out to so i had to go to a private clinic that did ultrasounds solely for finding out genders (3d miracles). good luck and congrats on the upcoming bundle! :)

well on my first i had scans every time i went for my check ups it was for all mothers. With or without complications.

on my second i had a scan each time to 37 weeks also but my last was a growth scan done at the hospital it was very clear and the told me then at 37weeks i was having another little precious girl.most ask why i couldn't wait but it cheered me up so much because i was so worried for my little one and her growth being 4weeks behind etc but she was born healthy and is to this day at 13 months old.

It depends where you are. I am in Alberta and with my first baby I had 3 ultrasounds (the initial one, one at 20 weeks and one when I went past my due date) With my second I only had one ultrasound at 20 weeks (I switched to a midwife instead of a doctor and that's the standard for low risk) We couldn't find out the sex with my second, and we were told that the chances of the sex showing up clearly on screen diminish as the baby gets bigger. Just one province over (In BC) they refuse to tell you the sex of the baby, so you have to come to Alberta and pay out of pocket for find out. I'm lucky I'm in Alberta I guess, I had 3d Ultrasounds with both my kids and it didn't cost a thing :)

I am 30 weeks 2 days. Going for a 3D/4D ultrasound today! So excited! I find out the gender today. This is my second ultrasound... But it is at a private clinic not associated with my doctor. It is just for confirming a pregnancy in early pregnancy and for finding out the gender. I can't wait. I am both nervous and excited. Today i find out if it's a girl or boy! I hope it's a girl. But as long as it's healthy that is all that really matters...i am so anxious to see this new little person that's been living inside me for so long.

I was only supposed to have one ultrasound at 20 weeks. We ended up having 5 due to complications and all of them were after 20 weeks, the last one being in the 36th week, 2 weeks before I delivered. Our insurance would only pay for the one unless more were medically necessary which in my case they were. Had there not been complications we could have had more but would have had to pay for them ourselves.

not unless there are complications, from what I understand. I had one at 13 weeks and another at 20 weeks. The only way I found out the gender of my daughter before she was born, was through a gift we recieved for a 3D Ultrasound (VERY cool btw). Some of them will book appointments strictly for gender finding, and can be reasonably cheap (compared to the packages where you get the photos and DVDs)

It really depends on the doctor and your insurance, I had 4 ultrasounds throughout my pregnancy due to some complications and only one of them came after the 20 weeks, due to them thinking my daughter was extremely small. I would talk to your OB/GYN and see what they say, normally doctors won't do them though to just find out the gender.

I think it just depends on the doctor. I am 31 weeks and I go on Friday for another ultrasound. You should ask them about it.

It really depends on your insurance and your doctor. With my pregnancy I only had one ultrasound at 20 weeks. I know I asked the same question and was told that I could have as many ultrasounds as I wanted, but would have to pay for them since my insurance wouldn't cover more than one. Talk with your doctor or midwife. They should be able to help you out :D

Congratulations on your pregnancy! I wish you the best of luck!
