My daughter has been having a very hard time sleeping in her crib lately. Any time I bring her into her room she fusses and as soon as I put her in her crib she screams and cries and won't go to sleep. I've tried letting her cry it out but she gets so worked up she hyperventilates.

This is a very recent thing, she's almost nine months old and in the past week or so she's started this. My mom has been letting her lay with her until she falls asleep and I've taken her for a ride but I don't want her to get defendant on this, I want her to be able to sleep in her own crib. Does anyone have any advice?

Thanks, you guys have some good insight. It's kinda funny how most of your kids were the same age when they did this...maybe it's a growth thing or a phase...I'll keep at it!

my girl does it.... i thought i as the only one... my daughter is 1 next month and hen she reached the 8-9 month mark it was impossible to get her to sleep.... but i let her cry for no more then 5 mins at a time and i would go in and try again.. but then it drove me nuts i would bring her back out again.. then i worked out why she did it... and i have stopped doing those things now she may still have a little cry but it's not as bad.. also a night light helped.. but when it comes to her screaming just bare it keep going in but don't take her out! be strong lol :) but my girl only done it for about 4 weeks... best of luck xx

my son has been doing this same thing. he will be 8 mo soon. i think its mommy attachement issues. what i did with my son was to let him fall asleep with me, then i would pick him up and rock him to make sure he would stay asleep, then put him down in his crib and he would wake up every few hours or so, and i would just do the same thing. now he is at the point where he falls asleep on his own in the crib and wakes up once a night to be rocked and goes right back to sleep

try just leaving her in the crib for short amounts of time. my daughter did the same thing and i just let her stay in her crib but i put her in it during the day with some toys for play time. then at night i started by sleeping on the floor next to the crib stroking her hand or her forehead until she fell asleep.
