So, I'm currently 29 weeks with my first baby and I havent had a problem with stretch marks until NOW. They have come up on my lower belly (pouch area for most women) and are bumpy and very red and ITCH like CRAZY!!! I find myself waking up in the middle of the night scratching them.. Before this started, I was using palmers cocoa butter religiously every morning after I showered.. then once the itching started, I started to use some lotion for dry skin- no help. The doc recommended I use something with aloe in it- no help. The only thing that has helped a lil bit is some caladryl lotion and that only works for maybe a few hours..

Is there anything else i can try? I'm desperate.. it hurts and is driving me nuts!

when my stretch marks did that i had pupps i was told to try hydrocortisone cream and then unfortunately for me it got worsr and they treated me with steroids but only because I had very bad complications with my twins and they were doing an emergency c-section. Ask your doc about hydrocortisone!

budreaux's butt paste ... It sounds funny but it's great diaper rash creme and works really well on chaffing as well ... which it sounds like you are doing around the stretch mark area. I used it ... and didn't itch half as much!

try not to scratch them!! I know it is hard but they are going to get worse if you scratch to much.. I used just normal olive oil it really moisturizes your skin and your skin will go nice and soft!

sounds like it might be the start of PUPPs, if it is there really isn't much you can do. i had it and i used Grandpas Pine Soap (it stinks but it works, found it at drugstore.com) in the morning and evening in the shower and then i used gold-bond lotion and everyother anti-itch lotion out there. also try to keep it cool the warmer it gets the itchier it will get!

Thats one of the worst parts about being pregnant! I used Cocoa Butter on mine and it relieved the itching a little bit! It kind of feels good when you scratch it but then it gets irritated i know the feeling!! lol Some people say to use ACTUAL lard - gross! but cocoa butter WILL Work or like Eucerin (dry skin cream) should make it not so rare and itchy! good luck! :)
