I've never been through anything like this and it scares the be-jesus out of me. I'm not due till Oct. 16th and I'm already having full blown contractions. They gave me medication to stop the contractions but honestly I dont feel like they are working even though the doctor says they are. I am stuck on bedrest and trying to take care of a 2 year old... any advice??

i no how that feels i like to do everything myself but my partners mum does alot without being asked and i feel bad saying dont! have a few hours with him in your bed reading books doing puzzles etc etc each day if you dont already? but i say if the doc says bed rest you should try your hardest coz you dont want your lil precious coming early :) it may suck not being able to do anything but its the best for your baby. and if you do get admitted im sure they could organize to have your lil boy in with you at the hosoital

i have a roommate and my fiancee living with me but its hard on them because they both work (she works days and he works nights) and they have to take care of both me and Damien and I feel like I'm taking up their time when they should be relaxing. They love helping me with everything but its me that has the problem with it. I'm usually an independant person who takes care of everyone and now i cant do anything.

since you dont want to b away form your child, which is very understandable, ask if some1 can move in wit you for a few weeks and help you at your home? good luck with it all :)

Thanks. Yeah we are hoping that Aydin holds on till mid september to make his arrival lol. It's just so hard on me because i just got custody of my 2 year old back in may due to some crap with his dad and cps and I'm hating the fact that everyone keeps taking him overnight and stuff. i know they are only trying to help but i feel like im getting seperation anxiety from all of it and i know that isnt helping my situation at all. Plus it is interrupting my potty training time with him but thank god he is a trooper and when he is home he's not too bad for me..

That's great that you have family to help you. I'm sure it's hard to be away from your oldest child. You're almost 34 weeks, right? So just try to get to week 37. Hope it works out for you and your family :)

The doctors are talking about admitting me because the medicine isnt working. I called the labor and delivery area of my local hospital tonight and they said that if the doctor finds that the medicine isnt working then they are going to have to have me admitted and pump me with magnesium. I have people to help with my 2 year old but its hard on me because I dont want to be away from him. I have been drinking alot of water and doing what the doctor said for the most part. Thanks hun. I appreciate the advice.

Ask for help. Do you have family members in the area that could help you with your 2 year old? If a doctor puts you on bedrest then you really shouldn't be getting up other than to use the bathroom. Drink lots of water, rest and try to relax. If you are really stressed out about it then you should talk to your doctor. They should be able to answer all of your questions. Hang in there!
