I have a 2 year old and a 1 year old. Both of them get a boost of energy and act out when they get tired. I am just wondering at what age do they realize they are tired and just lay down and go to sleep?

My kid's a 1, 3 1/2 and 5 and all do it, but what helps them is we've created a very calming bed routine. We don't take baths until right before bed, and we always read a story. My 1 year old goes to bed at 7:30 and the other two at 8:30. They normally go to bed fairly well now. Hope this helps.

my son is 4 almost 5 and he still does it. almost worse than before. stick to your routine and it is not as bad they accept what is coming more. and make them have a down time before bed like books of sitting together in there bed or a chair and talk.

It will be a while for that to happen. I would try putting them down BEFORE they cross over into their "second wind". Most kids that age to well with a 7pm bedtime.

If you are waiting for that it will be a while. Instead, would it be possible to put them down for bed before they get into that "second wind". Most kids this age do well with a bedtime of 7pm. That's what I would do. Good luck!
