How often do you get your children's teeth cleaned? We took our oldest when she was 3 and it was a bad experience for all of us. We are a fluoride-free family and they gave her a "fluoride treatment" and said that she should get one every 6 months? I plan to decline all fluoride treatments from now on and just have the cleaning done every year.
Does your dentist have your kids come every 6 months or every 12?

I didn't know it was linked to depression. We don't use it (or drink city water) b/c it is more toxic than Lead and Lead isn't safe in any amount so we figure it shouldn't be safe in any amount either.
We use fluoride-free toothpaste (Like Tom's of Maine or Auromere)

yeah, and that goes for tap water too! We get toothpaste at a natural food store. Usually Jason's toothpaste. I often just buy my kids the training fluride free toothpaste. They sell that at wal-mart. As for water, I filter it with a Britta filter. Hope this helped some!

yeah, I do fluride free with my kids as well. It is linked to depression...not good to swallow.

Every 12. My sister in law is a dental asst and she says at that age every 12 months is fine unless they are getting a lot of cavities. After age 5 then they should go every 6. Since they are getting to the point of losing baby teeth and thier adult teeth should be cleaned more often.

my dentist says every 6 month to a year, and i use normal toothpast two times a day on him, he's 5 and has no fillings at all. i've always used from 2 years adult toothpast, i taught him to spit it out. i don't know if this is wrong but it must be doing some good cause he's had absolutely no problems
