I was just wondering if you ladies experienced a lift or decrease in libido during your pregnancy and if you thought it was related to gender. I know traditionally they say a lift in libido during pregnancy means you're having a boy but I wanted to see what real moms experienced. I have 2 boys and NEVER had an increased sex drive during my last two pregnancies. It was all downhill after the two pink lines. I am 3 months pregnant now and I sometimes feel like a teenage boy! It often shows up in my dreams as well. We are really hoping for a girl this time.

I have only had one child - my daughter. I experienced far more vivid dreams, and a good 65% of them involved sex. However, they were not usually my husband. *blushes twenty-three shades of red and hides face in pillow* I did tell my husband this. At first he thought I was, Idk, fantasizing about the guy ringing up our food at Walmart, but then I clarified and said, "No, it's not like it's someone I know..." yeah, cause that was so much better. Well, I was on bedrest the whole pregnancy (high risk - three previous miscarriages), but we did manage to fool around a few times in the second trimester. I had such violent "morning" (ha - try ALL day) sickness that I felt constantly gross (in addition to that gross feeling that can accompany pregnancy as a general statement). So, for me, no real peak in the libido (other than in dream land with strange handsome men). When the urge did hit, it hit HARD - like a tidal wave. I kindly kicked out company once when I was feeling particularly frisky and could wait no longer. I don't know - I'm probably just weird.

Thank you for your reply. I agree when you're huge it is not comfortable at all no matter what your libido is like. Not even my husband likes sex towards the end. This does give me hope that I may have a little girl here though. I think having 2 boys then a girl would be perfect.

Well I get huge early on when I'm pregnant so it's just uncomfortable. I have had 2 boys and a girl but the boys were with my first husband and we didn't have the best marriage from the start. My girl is from my current marriage and I think I had more sex (not by much though) when I was pregnant with her. I put it down to my relationship though instead of the sex of the baby.
