We were thinking about, Sage, Emrys. Skyler or Gaelen for a boy... But apparently I've got a celtic thing. :)

I think that my name is pretty, but uncommon (hopefully that doesn't sound selfish...). My name is Silva.

I like Farrin.

Meaning: Its source is faeger hine, an Old English name meaning "Handsome servant."

Narrative: This name might have derived from another Old English surname given to those herding oxen for a living. Yet another derivation is from the Gaelic personal name Faramund, which might mean ''thunder.''

I encountered this with my daughter. What I ultimately did was pick a name that may have been a little mainstream that I liked and then changed the spelling to be unique. I also went looking at different translations of the "American" or Biblical names that I liked for her middle name and found a great alternative (making her full name completely uncommon). Her middle name is Jozsa - the Hungarian form of Josephine. Hope this helps!!

there are websites out that will let you take names you really like, type them in, and they scramble them for you. this should present some interesting names. here is one i used:

http://www.babynamescramble.com/

Also, this web site asks you a bunch of questions and then presents you with a name you might like based on your answers. An unusual way to find a name but you never know what could happen!

Good luck!

I named my son Keaton. His big sister helped to pick it out, I still don't know how she came up with it.
