Does anyone else have kids who yell everytime they talk? I can never get them to talk in a normal tone of voice...ever. It's driving me insane. I walk around with a constant headache from it. I feel like I've tried everything to get them to speak normally. Yet you can hear them from completely across the apartment complex when all they're doing is askin for juice. What do I do? If anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated. Thanx.

Hey Kamilah! I teach young children dance and it seems that their volume tends to get louder when there are more children in the room because they compete to be heard. A couple of things that help are taking thumb and index finger and acting like you are turning down the radio volume and not say anything. Believe it or not, that totally works as a gentle reminder of their volume level. Another thing is giving them "special turns" to talk. Say something like, "Ok little Johnny, now it's your "Special Turn" to talk" and if another child speaks over them I just say "Little Sarah, I know you want me to hear what you would like to say, and I want to hear it too! So, remind me when it's your special turn, but right now let's listen to Little Johnny because it's his special turn." (sounds a little hoakey, but you have to remember they're just kids) Hope this helps! :)

I never thought to have their hearing checked. They both have a checkup coming up. I will ask the doctor. Thanx.

Have you gotten their hearing tested? Could be they think that their noise level is perfect and everyone is talking to quietly.

First have they had thier hearing tested? They may have hearing issues which is why they talk to loud. Second, you should talk quietly to them. Dont respond to them if they are talking to loud. Also, when they watch tv or anything put it on very low and dont allow them to turn it up. This way they have to be quiet if they want to hear it.
