i have a 7 month old and he usually sleeps in his cot, but the past week everytime he gets put in it he will scream and scream cry non stop and he cries for ages when we pick him up he stops now i know about the let them cry and check on them routine but i live in a block of flats and im sure the neighbours who have to work dont appreciate it and he bangs his head on the cot on purpose like tantrum! i dont know what to do so i put him in the bed with us and now he wont sleep anywhere else!

I think you will have to put him back in his crib and let him cry it out... My son did the tantrum and hitting his head on the railing on purpose as well... What he learns when you pick him up is that if he cries long enough he will get his way... I know you have neighbors who might not like to hear him cry but if you leave him in his crib until he falls asleep, he will learn soon enough to self soothe. It takes a maximum of 3 nights if done correctly. You have to keep it up if you don't feel comfortable having your son sleep with you guys all the time. I know it's hard to hear your baby cry but in the end it's for the best; you get to sleep better and your son learns to sleep better as well.

Good luck

Hi there, I had a similar problem with my first born. You could try putting some toys in his cot, like a mobile. Also you could try getting him to sleep for his naps in the day time in his cot. But at the end of the day just try not to stress about it, if he ends up sharing your bed for a few months there's nothing wrong with that, just enjoy the closeness. My first born eventually slept in her own cot at I think 12 months, so he won't be there forever!
