middle of the night wake ups!!

My son is reaching 8 months and still wakes up 1,2 and sometimes 3 times a night still. Is this because he has gotten use to the middle of the night bottle. Any tips on getting him out of this routine?

Remember if hes teething that they sometimes have sleeping troubles. I know that my son used to sleep through the night, but since his teeth have started comming in he wont sleep through the night anymore.

Try and just rock them back to sleep or till they are comforted, then put them back into the crib to go back to sleep.

Most doctors say that night feedinga are not needed after 3 months of age, as long as there are no other health issues.

I waited a little linger with both my kids because at 3 months old, I transitioned them from bassinet in our room to crib in their room. I gave them some time to get used to that change and then I slowly started giving them less and less in the bottle at night.

There is also a book called "The Sleep Sense Program" by Dr. Dana Oblemon. It has some really great tips and ideas too. You can download it online at www.sleepsense.net. There is also online support for any other questions you might have on your baby's sleep.

When my son was about 4 months old.....he would sometimes sleep all night...thats when i knew that he didn't need his middle of the night bottle...and i would just go in right when i heard him and give him his binky...he would just scuk on that and then cry for about 5 mins and go back to sleep...sometimes i would still have to get him a bottle but each time i did, i would make less, like 6oz one night, then 4 oz the next and then after about 3 weeks he stopped waking up...he will sometimes wake due to teething or if he has an ear infection...but its pretty rare for him to not sleep through...and just make sure you feed him right before you put him down.....just to top off his last feed....my son will sometimes eat anywhere from 6-12 ounces before he goes to bed....good luck

It is possible that he is just use to waking up and getting a bottle. There are several things you can try. 1)Try giving him water instead of a regular bottle and see if he still falls asleep after eating. 2) Try just picking him up and rocking him back to sleep. He could just be in the habit of waking up. 3) Let him cry for a couple of minutes before getting him to see if he will fall back to sleep on his own. If he starts screaming too loud then you know he at least needs you. Good luck!
