Mistreated at the Pediatrician

I'm 21 years old. Every time I'm at my son's pediatrician, I feel like I am being judged. Like I'm under a magnifying glass. I'm sure it's because I'm a young mother and most think I don't know what I'm doing. Does anyone else feel that way at their child's pediatrician? I wish there was some way to control this situation.

If you're uncomfortable with your pediatrician, you should find a new one. They are supposed to play an important role in keeping your baby healthy, and if don't like him, you won't be as likely to ask the questions you need to ask or take his advice. A good working relationship with the doctor is important for your child's health. Call around and do interviews with other doctors in your area - I'm sure you'll find one who you are more comfortable with.

i never get treated like that at the drs office but i did when i had my high risk visits at the hospital. by the time i left every appointment i felt horrible. i cried when i left. i'm 23 and have a 16 month old and a 2 month old. i got asked questions that i know they wouldnt get away with asking others. i also felt they looked down on me because my bf and i arent married. i dont know how many times they asked me if i had cheated on him. my bf had come to my appointment with me and they more or less said that if i was pregnant with someone else's child that i'd be at a higher risk. a higher risk for what i have nooo idea. luckily i only had to see them throughout my pregnancy but your situation is different. what if you looked for another pediatrician? it's not nice being treated like that and you shouldnt have to feel upset everytime you go.
