Don't use any creams or lotions. They will only irritate his skin. Baby acne is just the oil glands adjusting and is part of their hormonal levels working out. Just wash his face with a warm wash cloth if it starts to look oily. Otherwise just leave it be. It will go away on its own.

Lol. It's funny because everybody thinks that their baby is dirty or has oily skin because of this but all it is is the babies pores opening up for the first time. Just let it happen, don't try to pick at it or anything and it should only take a couple weeks for them all to open and it will go away.

Quoting Denay:

the Dr. I saw with my daughter said to make sure to use ivory Laundry soap and not use dryer sheets and to use lotion to keep it moist.

Yea, I agree. I didn't know they sprayed chemicals on baby cloths from the store. And I didn't wash any of the cloths but just put the cloths on my newborn. Well his face broke out and I couldn't figure out what was causing it. So my mom suggested I wash all the cloths with Dreft and so I did and the acne went away!

With my kids I was never told not to put lotion on their face so I did.. After I stopped the baby acne went away. Way to figure it out.. It could also be laundry detergent.. Try to use dye free, perfume free detergent.. Dreft can be expensive but Tide has one that has that and it's a decent price..

When my son had it I just washed his face with a wash cloth three times a day. I also only use the free and clear laundry soap and wash everything before he wears it.

My pediatrician told me not put any kind of creams or soaps on it, just to wash the face with a warm wash cloth.

My daughter had that problem. I used Eucerin calming cream on the affected area and after a few days it went away.
