My 1 year old won't eat table food, what should I give him?

I try to give him things that my husband and I are eating, but he refuses to even try it. He does eat peanut butter sandwiches, yogurt, cottage cheese, bananas so i don't think it is a texture thing, I just don't know why he won't eat or what to do to get him to eat. any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I think if you give in to his demands you will set your self up to a lifetime of being a short order cook. I would put one thing on his plate you know he will eat but no seconds till he has tried everything you may find he is hungery and cranky for a few days but it will teach him to try new things. Don't however make every meal a battle. if you make breakfast or lunch all foods he will eat his hunger shouldn't be too bad. I found that my daughter would refuse to eat supper only to be hungery as soon as the dishes were done on thoughs days I leave her plate on the table. They will eat if they are hungery you may have to get a bit creative.
