Thank you for your advice she hasnt ate any pureed foods for a very long time! I always offer her a meal first and give her plenty of time to eat it ... but if she doesnt then I dont feel right not giving her anything all night b/c she wont eat what I gave her! I'm not going to stop giving her the fruit I was just hoping that there was some creative ways to get her to eat her other food groups. Hopefully like some said its just a phase : )

My daughter went through phases of eating only certain things, or eathing NOTHING. I think it's just stages that they go through. I'd say give her sweeter veggies as suggested and only a little of the fruit AFTER she's eaten the other maybe. Don't completely take away what she likes, just make her work for it :)

If you start them with fruit first that is often a problem that happens. I suggest start eliminating the sweetest fruits until there are only tart ones left in her diet, the gradually add sweet vegetables, getting less and less sweet. My son loves butternut squash and sweet potatoes. Carrots are good to follow that. Try to eliminate fruit completely once you have a few vegetables that she will eat and only reintroduce them once vegetables and meats are well established. It will take major willpower not to give in but you will begin to see major health problems if her diet doesnt widen. Hope this works. Good luck.

Meatloaf is basically ground beef, oatmeal/bread crumbs, egg, tomato paste/ketchup, and you can add in chopped veggies like carrots, celery, onion, etc. and bake in a loaf pan. It's pretty good and my kids love it and never fight over eating veggies! =)

Can I ask what is meatloaf? What is in it and how do you make it? Not sure if we have an equivilent dish here in the UK but it has always fascinated me when I have read about it or seen it referenced on TV :0)

creative? sure. Make meatloaf in mini muffin tins. Top with mashed potatoes dyed her favorite color and speckle with corn, peas etc so they look like cupcakes. I've yet to meet a child who won't eat them.

Babies often go through phases with different types of foods. My advise to you would be to give your daughter what she wants (as long as its nutritional) but also offer other food groups along with it. Eventually she is going to want something different and surprise you by gobbling down what ever you give her. My son who is 11 months old, wont eat any pureed foods any more so I started to give him cubes of veggies, meat and starches he loves it. Maybe you should also try that if you haven't already. Good luck!

This is not rocket science, if YOU allow her to only eat fruit, she will only eat fruit. Offer her other things to eat and don't give her fruit until she has eaten them, or mix fruit with her other things. This other lady just had a similar post "my children will only eat junk food". Come on mamas, you know the answer.

Well she has been eating whatever we eat since she was 10 months old. Anything that we had for supper she would eat whether is was spegetti or a roast dinner ... we try very hard to give her a nutritional and complete diet so for a snack she would get a banana or a bowl of blueberries, etc but over the past couple months she just wont touch anything she use to eat anymore.

oh and DO NOT add sugar! It is not necissary and a really bad habit to get into.

one veggie I was able to get my son to eat better was carrots by adding a little brown sugar to them.
