my 16 month old has always been a good sleeper ... until about 2 weeks ago. He now wakes up at 3 am every night stands up and calls out my name he will not go back to sleep unless he sleeps in my bed.( has not slept in my bed since 4 months old) not to mention he hates his crib! so he sleeps on our guest bed ... is this a phase or is it time for a big boy bed?

I have noticed that my daughter does this when she is teething. If a tooth is ready to cut through she wants to sleep with us. After it cuts she has no problem sleeping in her own bed.

My wee boy is nearly 2 and everynite i put him to bed with a warm bottle of milk and then top it up later with either water or milk (depending on how hot it is) so if he wakes up he can jst grab it and go back to sleep if that doesnt work then try a big boys bed my son never like his cot and was on the cot mattress on the floor at 9mths old until i felt comfortable putting him in a bed..hope this helps :-)

My Oldest daughter used to do that at about that age... it's probably a phase... what I noticed with Becca though is that if she had a nap that day, she would be up in the middle of the night, and if she hadn't had a nap, sure she was cranky at about 7pm but she would stay in bed all night. I cut out the naptime, she suffered no ill effects, and never took a nap again... she also stopped being wide awake at 2 and 3 am every day!

My 16 month old does the same....I usually give him a warm milk bottle and rock him to sleep, and he's out like a light within minutes
