How to get my kids to sleep in their own rooms so that my husband can start sleeping back into our bed.

i had the same prob with my boys! there is only 19 months between them, so they are very close anyway. i got around the problem by putting them in the same room to sleep! not an ideal solution to most people but it worked really well for me. they are now 8 and 6 yrs old and they still love being together. good luck. 8-)

I have a three year old who recently decided he didn't want to sleep in his room. I just kept returning him to his bed until he got the message. Plus, like many toddlers, he hates having his door closed when he is in bed. So we have a rule that if he keeps getting up and has to be returned to his room again and again, he start closing his door when we leave. It may sound a bit mean but it works.

I have the same problem with my three year old and my one year old is catching on. I had a routine set in place that was the same every night regardless. But when I started working in the evenings my husband didn't stick to it. I would start with a routine and then maybe sit or lay in their room with them til they go to sleep. You could make the time spent in their room less and less. You could also make a rule where one night a week they can sleep on the floor in your room and make it a special occasion thing. Let me know what you think. I hope it helps.
