All I can say is you just have to let him cry. He has to figure out how to soothe himself without you nursing. At first that is going to be hard and he may cry, but if you don't give in he will figure it out and stop crying. It is going to take time, but the more times you give in the longer it will take.

Thank u ladies...i visited his dr. He said that this is very normal in the age of two, this stage is called TERRIBLE TWOS when toddlers refuse to eat so the solution he gave is that dont force him to eat let him hungry n eat in front of him he will come himself if he would be hungry n the shocking point is that it took me 1 day to experiment this now he has started eating but still struggling for substitude milk...m just waiting for his birthday, his birthday gift will be NO MORE NURSING lol

Try pediasure or boost. It's alot sweeter like breastmilk. Lots of nutrients in that. New studies have shown cow milk is NOT all its cracked up to be.

Don't give him milk, give him water or limited amounts of juice. My daughter refused to drink milk from a cup, so we made up for it by giving her yogurt and cheese, etc. If he's losing weight, then you need to talk to his pediatrician.

I really appreciate ur advice but the prob is that HE JUST DONT WANT TO SEE MILK into his sippy cup as well...i tried lots of tricks but he just dont drink it, during night he want to breastfeed and if i refuse or just tap him to sleep he starts crying its very challenging for me. So what i do is that i only nurse him before sleep or nap and when he wakes up. And yes during night

At 2 yrs I would not do bottle milk. I would do cow's milk in a sippy cup. If he is loosing weight I would talk to your doc as to the best way to go about switching. Normally I would advise only nursing right away in the morning and right before bed then during the day only offering cow's milk in the sippy. Because they are not use to that their milk intake does go down during the transitional time. So that is why I would advise you to talk to your doc first to make sure that would be ok. Also make sure he is not "drinking" his meals. At 2 yrs old he should only be getting about 12 ounces of milk the rest should be coming from the foods he is eating as solids are what brings him the most nutrition right now. Many times kids will fill up on milk and not want to eat solids. To help prevent this always offer solids first. Only nurse (if not switching to cup) at meal times....if he is wanting to nurse at other times...don't offer milk or water from a sippy cup. If he is really thirsty he will drink from the cup.
