They have no-bites nail polish, you can get in at Walgreens. It will work for nail biters just not thumb suckers. The more you pull his hands away or scold him for it the more he will fight you. I would suggest telling him something like eww that is yucky or big boys don't do that.

my doctor told me to use hot sauce, or something spicy...he noticed that i bite my nails and was worried that my son would pick up on it so he said if he does, this tactic will stop him in no time...good luck with this :)

i have the same problem yet my son also bites his toenails till they bleed, im lost to.... toes are easy being winter here socks are good. I went to the chemist and got some stop biting stuff for his nails and just keep jumping on him when i see him doing it. Feels like im foreva telling him off but the habit needs to be broken and easier now than as they get older i guess. Diverting attention doesnt work as it is a habit and they will do it any way... i swear my sons gotten used to the taste of the nail stuff damn him lol

all you can do is to divert his attention when he starts too bite them, do an activity with him that involves both hands. its repetitive but sooner or later he'll start to forget to bite his nails. if that doesnt work you can also buy foul tasting nail polish to stop them biting. any chemist should have them.

You should be able to get some nail biting nail polish from chemist, tastes discusting, and being so young you shouldnt need to use it too often
