It could be a number of things, Urinary Tract Infection, Yeast Infection, Vaginosis. The VERY first thing you need to do is get her to a Dr. ASAP! Take her to your primary Dr, urgent care, anywhere you can go, if she is experiencing pain and a discharge that is NOT normal for a 3 year old, trying home remedies at this point isn't going to be a quick solution, she needs a doctor, someone who can tell you what is causing this and act to fix it. How long has this been going on? I know this is going to sound cruel and mean, but when it comes to your child's pain and discomfort your first place should be the doctor, not a support board.

I'd give her a dose of children's Tylenol to help the pain and call your doctor or a triage nurse at the ER. Explain her symptoms to them and they can tell you if you should bring her in. This sounds like a yeast infection to me, but I may be wrong..if it is she will just be on antibiotics for a bit.
Good luck

Hi ladies, I agree with you about going to the doctor and yes it could be a number of things, but based upon symptoms or the list you gave above; they are all bacterial infections; But we must be considerate of the person asking about her child. Maybe she has gone to the doctor? Has she gotten the answers or results she is looking for? The mother could also be looking for a maintenance plan as well. Sometimes when we are concerned for our children we send red flags looking for help any where. Or maybe she is not in a financial position to take her daughter to the doctor at this moment. None the less, I commend her as a mother for searching for help at all possible routes. I do appreciate your comments, because I am not only a ND but I am a Medical Doctor as well. God Bless you.

If it were my child I would take her to the dr. Immediately. I she feels better soon.

I would call her doctor and schedule her an appointment. That kind of pain at 3 years old isn't normal and I don't think the discharge is either. She might have some sort of infection.

my niece had a similar issue.we had her tested for all of the infections possible.finally we had to take her to a gyn and they did a procedure to see if she had stuck anything "up there" and turns out, there was a barrette in there!i hope this isn't the case for your little one,but could be a possibility.

sounds like it could possibly be a slight yeast infection or urine infections. Have her drink plenty of good distilled water, pure cranberry juice the sour kind at the health food store, and goldenseal tea once a day. If all else fails take her to the doctor, but I would advise staying away from antibiotics, it will seem to clear the problem, but it will strip her body of the good bacteria (flora) and make it worst in the long run and re-occurring.

hope this helps from your Naturopathic MOM

She may have a Urinary Tract Infection. If she takes a lot of baths, it is common. If it is, she will need an antibiotic. Call her doctor to be on the safe side.
