So my son is sleeping right now and out of no were he screams really loud and then starts to whimper for like 5 min. Im wondering is it normal for them to do that or is it indicating that something is wrong? Has anyone else had this happen

My daughter whimpers and makes faces..some sad..during her sleep every once in a while. We call them her puppy dreams. She also screams every once in a while. I pick her up and wake her up by calling her name, when she is awake she stops crying. I just cuddle with her till she goes back to sleep. They are just nightmares. I asked my mom who has 7 kids and is an LPN...she said no big deal. Good luck!

my 3month old cries nearly every night in his sleep. I was worried at first, until i was told it is normal, they have night terrors. I once made the mistake of picking him up while he was crying, it just made things worse, he screamed louder and cried longer. I now always just tap him on his chest gently which comforts him and he stops after a few mins

Ive been in the same boat for about 4 months now. just wake him up gently and give him hugs, let him know hes safe and that you are there. that seems to help out my son.

It seems weird to me for a 3 month old. My kids have had nightmares at older ages, but not 3 months--maybe he has an ear infection or something that's painful. I don't know, sorry.

My daughter did that and her doctor said it was just nightmares :( It's sad, but everyone has nightmares I guess.
