FYI...make sure you keep him hydrated. Give him some pedialyte cause babies only get hospitalized if they're dehydrated.

It is a very scary thing to go through I went through it with my nephew... the only thing I can tell ya is keep the air clean.. don't let people smoke around him, and don't let sick people hold him either.. and just take it one day at a time.

Babies with RSV are usually admitted to the hospital because its such a bad infection... Both my girls have had RSV several times and has spent a week at a time or longer in the hospital, there is really nothing you can do just give breathing treatments but they should really be in the hospital. Kailey had RSV so bad one time that they had to give her oxygen her oxygen lever dropped down to 60%. I don't write this to scare you but I think that you should take back to the doc.

I have a cpl friends who smoked during pregnancy and their chidren now have rsv. This is not always the case but they have since quit and are not having as many occurences and when they do they do breathing treatments 2-3 times a day for a few weeks which seems to really help. I hope your baby gets all better soon. I know how hard it is to have a sick baby. Surely there is a online suppport group since rsv is pretty common, maybe you can join one to get tips from other moms who are dealing with it right now too! GOOD LUCK. You'll be in my prayers

You'll just have to ride it out. My 8 month old had it a few weeks ago for about a week and a half. It sucks cause you really can't do anything for em. I just gave her ibuprofen every 6hours and used the albuterol via nebulizer.

You need to run a cool mist vaporizor.. and like Paula said below don't let any sick people around and don't let anyone that smokes around them don't care if they change clothes adn wash their hands its still on their bodies and the smoke can make them worse.
