My baby has month and a half and she has problem passing her stool, I have to pull up her legs until she poops. It has about 5 days like that. Is that normal at some time or what can I do?? By the way I saw some little fine hair that she drops in her stool dnt know if this can cause it?

My oldest has always suffered with a constipation/trouble passing stool issue even when he was just breastfed. I would always try "bicycling" his legs which would sometimes help but was no magic trick. We found one of the things that worked really well was a little bit of brown sugar in warm water. The sugar concentration helps draw water into the intestines to soften the stool.

Add 1/2 teaspoon of brown sugar (the one used for cooking) to 1 oz of cooled boiled water. Offer this to your baby 3 times a day, directly before formula feeds, until his poop is soft and then stop.

Good luck!

Is she formula fed? It might have to do with the formula she's on. You can give her some VERY diluted apple juice (1 part juice to at least 3 parts water) to help get things moving, but you don't really want to give it to her regular, so if it doesn't get better you need to try to figure out what's causing it
