My son was 8.14 when he was born & I tried breastfeeding but it was wayyy too much on my body since I lost so much blood and I was already anemic to begin with so I gave him a bottle when he was 3wks but it doesn't seem to get him full at all.. So I started putting cereal about 2wks ago and he's doing fine with it other than not pooping everyday but when he does he isn't constipated or straining so is it really all that bad ?

Why ask if you can give him cereal at 2 months old if you've already gone and done it anyway.

My advice is no, you shouldn't be feeding a 2 month old anything OTHER than breastmilk or forumla. If he is hungry, feed the kid more formula. Why should you not feed your child cereal?

1. It can cause allergies because their tummies are not able to digest the proteins.
2. They end up not getting the nutrients they need for their physical AND mental development (these nutrients ARE in formula, but not in cereal).
3. Due to the inability to digest properly, it CAN cause problems with the kidneys.

I could list more reasons, but I won't. Basically, just take it as fact that the AAP and the WHO both recommend waiting until around 6 months. I would suggest that if you don't know what these acronyms mean, you do some more research and stop feeding your child anything other than formula until you have done so.

And you should NEVER feed cereal in their bottle. Ever.
