I'm at my wits end with my 5 year old son. I love him dearly but he drives me crazy! He doesn't listen very well unless we sit say it 10x's.iv tried grounding him, taking things away, timeouts, spanking( not hard). He take thing away from his little sister and when she doesn't to him he throws a tantrum like 2 year old. He talks back l, he calls names to ppl when he don't get his way. I don't know what to please an advise, would be great.

Your son sounds JUST like my step son. he is 5 as well. My hubby thinks it is a boy thing.. that with the support guidance and structure he will calm down and listen. And if he doesn't.. he wants to get him tested for AD&D. Which in our case just might be the problem. Just keep being the great mom you are.. there is little we can do when what we can do doesn't work. Have you tried a reward chart? give him the chance to either get a sticker for the day.. or a sad face. it seems to be helping with my step son. if he gets a week of stickers he gets a special treat (video game time for him) and if he gets a week with a sad face.. he looses a toy he loves until he gets 3 stickers in row. it is not a perfect plan tho. Sometimes he just doesn't care.. :/

Yes I have tired the chart. And the many other things nothing sticks, I was thinking ADHD as I had it when I was a kid but nothing like how he acts.it seriously a problem I just dont want him growing up to be this out of control teen BC I know that would be very bad. The sooner and younger can get this under control the better. My boyfriend says its a boy thing as well
