I didnt quite read all of the posts, so Im not sure if anyone mentioned this, but Almond milk is another option if Soy and everything else doesnt work as well. It is a little bit sweeter, actually most breastfed babies prefer it over cows milk or soy. I also am one of those people who dont like the idea of drinking cows milk (the whole, we dont have 4 stomaches like cows do and such...) so my 6 month old is on soy formula and I dont think I will introduce him to cows milk ever if possible.(although we do use by products like butter, cheese etc) My 2 year old never liked cows milk, so he drinks ALOT of other fluids in the day and gets calcium rich foods and a childrens multi vitamin. Dont forget that at the end of the day, whatever decision you make is yours, not anyone elses. Only you can make the best choices for your children no matter what anyone elses may think is right or wrong! :)

Why push her having milk so soon? remember that she is only a baby once and dont get caught up in making her do things sooner than she should! (Plus I agree with the allergy thing!) That goes for everything...walking, talking, using the potty! Time goes my so fast and before you know it they are all grown up!

I had a similar problem with my eldest who is now 3. She was breastfeed and when I stopped feeding her at 1 year old and gave her cow's milk she wasn't interested in it all. So I just made sure she had plenty on her cereal and got her calcium through yoghurts and other calcium rich foods. But now she will drink milk - it's not her favourite thing but she will at least have a drink of it once a day. I wouldn't worry too much as long she is getting calcium in other forms. Also make sure she drinks plenty of water - that's what my daughter drank all the time for a long time. Although she does have juice now.

I have 3 kids and with all 3 of them i gradually introduced it by giving half milk half water and sometimes i put a bit of honey in it if they really didn't want i then just gradually put more milk than water til they were just drinking milk make sur it is still warm though mine all refused to drink cold milk....hope this helps

Well, you shouldn't be giving her milk until AFTER her 1st B-Day, and when you do go to give it to her, start with 75% formula, and 25% milk for a few days, then 50/50 for a few days, then 25% formula and 75% milk until u are out of formula... milk just tasts funny and they need a slower switch!

My daughter didn't start to drink milk until she was 2. She just never liked it until then. She would have some in her cereal in the morning but she never wanted to drink it. She was breast fed not formula fed so i didnt have to continue giving her formula or anything. But I just let her drink juice or water. Those are good for them too. I just didnt push her, and now she drinks at least 1 glass a day!

she may be allergic to something in it/lactose intolerant. my moms friend has a daughter and refused to eat certain fruits. come to find out that she was allergic to them. that may be all it is. kids know more then we think they do. my son refused it to. come to find he is lactose intolerant.

My aunt had the same problem. She introduced cows milk again 3 months after my cousin turned a year old. When she wouldn't take it she'd leave her alone for a week before she decided to try it again. My baby cousin started drinking the cows milk after 6 months of trying lol. She mixed it and all, nothing worked. It's really up to her if she wants it or not.

My son is 16 months old and we can't get him to drink soy milk, cows milk, goats milk. We've tried every flavor and still nothing. We thought we had it made when he drank chocolate soy milk for a week but now he hates that too. Plus he has the EXPENSIVE Nutramagin formula. We've resorted to trying milk every once in a while hoping he takes to it someday. We do juices and water during the day and formula at night only. It cuts down on formula but still gives him some of the nutrients he needs.

cows milk is actually good for your child till there 2 it helps with the development of there brain, but what i found really helpful is pediasure for my 2 year old ! when she was one years old she was a tiny lil thing, as soon as i statred her on pediasure she grew like a weed ! and its quite tasty for them they have it in differnt flavors (choc, vanilla, and strawberry) it has all there daily vitamins and fruits and veggies as well as the calciunm and fat they need for brain growth, try it im sure she will love it!!

there's no harm in completley weaning a baby off milk so long as the calories are replaced by food and the fluid intake is kept above a pint and more in summer with whatever the child wants to drink really.

I wouldn't be too concerned about milk. I took my son off completely because of things I have learned about it. If I had known half of what I do now, I would have never let him drink it in the first place. If you want to learn some interesting info on milk go to www.notmilk.com My son had extreme ear infections for a year that were caused by milk.

they don't actually need milk once they are 1. My daughter is just past one and the gp has recommended we wean her fully. they just need at least a pint of fluid a day, it can be water or with meals squash/juice etc.

you can make sure they get their calcium by making sure they eat calcium rich foods, just remember to keep the fluid intake up.

you could offer a cup of formula or follow-on milk at bedtime just to settle them. I started off on cows milk a few weeks before my daughter turned one by mixing it into formula. She'd had normal milk to make up rusks and stuff for a while. I'd put a 200ml carton of formula into her beaker and add 50ml of full fat milk. She had that twice a day and she has juice or squash with her lunch.

Have you tried having a drink of milk and offering some to your daughter? If Chloe has ever turned her nose up at anything we make sure that either we or my parents eat that food or juice themselves and Chloe begs it off them! She soon learned to like the foods in question, she got used to apple juice like this.

also if you warmed formula warm the milk too, we personally never bothered the first 4 days in hospital we didnt have access to warm formula when she wouldn't latch on, and when we got home she'd have 60mls out of a 200ml carton, so we'd make up a days worth of bottles and put them in the fridge (seals it better than just turning the carton down) so from birth she's had fridge cold formula with no probles at all.

my 11 month old LOVES soy milk... it was easy for me to start the switch over. Milk might hurt her tummy as well. The Chocolate soy is good too and a little better for you then chocolate milk.

They do have a toddler age formula, but you can try a soy milk it may be the flavor and in soy milk they have a vanilla.

My oldest was like that. He ended up warming up to chocolate milk tho....but boy was he picky. it had to be the powder scoop in kind, not chocolate syrup. Anyway, try starting off by mixing the forumla with the milk.....like half forumla, half milk in a cup or bottle, or even less milk if she doesnt go for that. then slowly add more milk and less formula until its all milk. Another thing that helped me was warming the milk. Their formula is warm so it makes sense the cold milk would be weird to them at first. Hope it helps!
