I have identical twin boys and they are now 16 months and doing great. My pregnancy and delivery were very bad though... I started having severe back pain and pressure a month before o delivered and the er would only check my cervix and send me home because I was not dilating then I went for my routine ultrasound at 26 weeks and discovered they had twin to twin transfusion. I had to go to the hospital immediately and delivered by caesarean the next morning. Both boys needed life saving surgery and they were in the NICU from June 9th to August 30th... It was very scary but they are my little supermen and are perfectly healthy today and advanced developmentally. They have not had any problems since leaving the hospital. The march of dimes did a lot of work with me in the NICU and they were a huge support to me and my babies.... My advice to you is pay close attention to your body and communicate everything with your OBGYN.

I am not having twins, nor have I had them, but I am a twin. My mother always said that on the whole, her pregnancy was extremely tiring, especially after five months, and that she, like you had a LOT of back pain. She, like most twin mothers I think, had a c-section, which didn't go too badly; my sister was deprived of oxygen for 30 seconds I think, but she's fine now.

Hope I helped, good luck!

We had a baby shower and got two swings, bouncers, bumbos and high chairs. Two breast feeding pillows they helped prop them up and with getting settled with breastfeeding. I did not buy two cribs I just used 2 pack n plays and by 16 months they were in toddler beds. Still I was not prepared for twins until they arrived. Can you really ever be prepared? They are amazing and fun, tiring and exhausting but I wouldn't trade it ever. The sleep deprivation in the begining can be real tough. I used to hear "it gets better after a year" It changes and usually the sleep deprivation gets better but easier? not really, Just different challenges. It is pretty amazing and special to be a mom and even more amazing to be a mom to twins.

Congrats!!! I have 22 month old b/g twins. I found out there were two babies at 19 weeks. We were so shocked and then terrified. I worked 12 hour night shifts as an RN till 30 weeks and took off work of my own choice to stay with family closer to an midwife/OBGYN practice that was most supportive of my want and choice for a natural twin delivery. My twins were my second pregnancy. I carried them to 39 weeks and labored a total of 3.5 hours, 1 hour of that at the hospital. 5 minutes between my twins. 6 pounds 8 ounces and 6 pounds 9 ounces. I seriously worried until the day they were born and were two healthy babies in my arms. Good luck, rest, drink lots of water, eat lots of protein and listen to your body.

Yeah I know how that is, aside from the twins I have a 7yr old girl and 3yr old boy... Its tough but you get used to the chaos lol... I've had the names picked out for a while Deidrick and Kendrick. Look through baby books and online for inspiration. I have a pattern with my kids names all three boys have Rick at the end my oldest son's name is Lyrick.

The home life with the boys keeps me on my toes especially now. When they were infants the hardest parts were coordinating feeding and severe lack of sleep. Now they're both walking and starting to talk... They keep each other company but they do have a tendency to fight lol buying two of everything still doesn't work well because then each of them want both of the toys. They're truly a blessing though and quite cute I must say! :)
