My guy turned 30 last month, money was tight what we did for him was make coupon books, my 5 and 3 year old drew pictures and wrote out things that they would do for daddy, like let him sleep in, mow the grass even though they are too young, get him a glass of ice water so on... we also mad a cake with hid favorite frosting. we had dinner together and it was real nice. hope this helps

I would have to agree with Leslie. Just make it an intimate setting with you guys only and make it a surprise as well. He will appreciate that special thought!!

Oh yeah one year we made him a kids party it was fun we had cake Ice cream and we played games we made a game like pin the tail on the donkey and we blindfolded everyone and we played just some games in the closet the kids had it was a lot of fun (the kids liked planning to pick out what to do and it's ok if its not perfect it was only us and the kids)

Also a movie party don't cost anything put a movie on to watch at home and make dinner sit while you watch or make snacks popcorn ect

You gotta get crafty when there isn't any money!

One year we made my husband a coupon book - the kids (well my 6 and 3 year old) Put things like "Free Big Hug" and "Daddy Time - I will go to my room and play for 1 hour while daddy watches tv" and a "Anything Daddy Wants" stuff like that they loved making them And I made him one to (but mine to him had some fun adult stuff ;) he loved them and I let the kids decorate his cake (a mess but he though it was funny) - I am a stay at home mom and hate using the money he made working for his birthday gifts. Hope you have fun!
