Awww, my son is 4 also and he went through this, i use to ask myself the same question, why is this going backwards? but what i do is stop him from drinking any liquids after 8pm he goes to bed at 9 and i put him on the toilet after his bath, read him a book say his prayers and then he goes back on the toilet before he shuts hs eyes, it has helped me a lot, he still has accidents but it has gotten much better.

No, no other children in the house. I ruled out possible events in his life that may have him anxious. I noticed that it started when dad started working a night job. but now dad has stopped working the second job and it still persist.

hi! yes it is normal, alot of children i know have had this happen at some point, it could just be a phase or a reaction to some unrelated event in their life... any big changes recently? it could be anything from childcare, friends, routine, family life - you name it! it is possible it could be to have extra interaction with you. just hang in there and talk with him about it, make sure he gets heaps of praise when he can get through a night dry :)
