My son has a 6th sense for when mommy and daddy are going to have sex

It doesn't matter how deeply he is sleeping or if it is during his morning or afternoon nap or the middle of the night, I swear my son knows when daddy puts the moves on mommy and he does his best to stop it. Last night at 2 am he woke up out of nowhere just as we were starting even though he had slept soundly all night. He must not want any brother or sisters! haha

my son has done that a couple of times too....really awkward! we have a walk-through between our two rooms and have a curtain hung in the doorway to seperate them...he discovered the curtain when he QUIETLY woke up from a nap...my hubby and i were having some fun and next thing we hear is "mommy....daddy" and a little giggle from our sneaky little 22 month old...he's done it 2 times since then...maybe he thinks it's a game...but daddy definitely doesn't lol

Quoting Amanda:

i wanna know all about these pre-baby all nighters! I've always been lucky to get 5mins! Hubby is too sensitive and cannot lean his weight on his arms for long, other positions feel too nice and result in even shorter sessions! Lucky i learnt to keep up with him really. Chloe will wake up when we're doing the deed, right passion killer, but then again having my mum and dad snoring in the next room is just as bad LOL!

did you try missionary or 'doggy'  while both of you laying on your side? that way the sensation is almost the same as when he's on top and he doesn't have to support his weight on his arms :) alternatively, he can be off the bed (on his knees or whatever) or you on several pillows so that it's still missionary, but you are elevated higher again,  so that he doesn't have to support his weight. we had to do that because towards the end, my belly was getting in the way, that or doggy to make sure that he can fully enter without pushing up on me (although that did take a bit of adjusting on my behalf to make sure that he wasn't pushing up on any walls inside). and if you're up to it, try being on top and just controling what you do to keep him from finishing off too quickly :) hubby used to love when i did it, he said when he finally got to finish, the sensation was much more intense. and besides -- there's always oral sex! i actually started enjoying receiving it during pregnancy because for whatever reason i became more sensitive (before pregnancy i enjoyed giving it but not really receiving it because it didn't do anything for me).

haha omg our daughter did that a few times when she was younger. we'd have to bring her into our bed and that was it :( now we only get chance to do it in nap time on the weekend if that and we always wake her up. shes in the room behind us and is a very light sleeper haha

Yeah, as funny as it sounds (sorry don't mean to laugh), it's really annoying especially considering that with everything else that's going on you're lucky to have a "quality time" for just the two of you that doesn't involve you two passed out next to each other because u're just too tired to do anything else.

i used to be in your shoes where it took us a while to start having sex again because first i was recovering from C even though bleeding stopped at about 2 weeks, then at 6 weeks & 9 weeks i was bleeding for several days (mock-period) and the rest of the time we were too tired because Max woke up several times throughout the night hungry (he was always a big baby and ate a lot). then when he finally started to have a sleeping pattern, he'd wake up just as soon as we tried to do anything. so we had to adjust quite a bit. our sex life has turned into "a passionate quickie" (15 mins or so) instead of a night of love-making and it actually became much more spontaneous, not scheduled (which is actually quite fun). and we figured out that we could do it (in another room) while he was awake and 'talking' to the toys on his mobile -- he used to love just laying there and talking to them for good 20-30 minutes at a time so it freed up a bit of "us" time.

now, for the most part, he sleeps from 12 to 7:30am, so we don't have to sneak around anymore, but a few times we had to get up, tend to the baby, give him another bottle and then when he passes out again, come back to finish what we have started.

good luck! and definitely keep at it -- it's very important for you two to have some "adult" time or it can cause major changes & problems in the relationship (just look at some of the horror stories on this site). again good luck! i hope your baby grows out of it quickly :)

Is he in the same room? It may be a good time for him to move to a room of his own.

thats to fuuny but it must be a pain, have you tried about 10 to 15 mins after he falls asleep and night because that is when they are in the deepest of sleep. you might want to look on the internet to find out more on babys sleep paterens to find out more about when they are in the deepest sleep, if that dont work they you might have to get someone to watch him so you and your partner can get some time together. good luck you will need it!!

lol. mine freaks out if we kiss, snuggle, anything. But if he's asleep now, he is an ultra deep sleeper and never wakes up anymore.
