I'm a vegan and have raised my children vegan my son is now 8 and my oldest daughter now 4 have been eating eggs and a small amount of dairy for the last year, both of them are really healthy children. he will be fine if he doesn't eat meat. eggs beans and nuts are all a good source of protein, put peanut butter and banana and honey on his toast in the morning. or a peanut butter and banana milkshake. i wouldn't make a big deal out of him not eating meat, it's just a faze the less attention you give him for it the less he will do it.

I would try eggs or beans. My daughter LOVES (devours it!) chili. Well, she eats the meat of course, but loves the beans??? She can't stand eggs but keep trying. Right around 1½ they begin to be VERY picky. Heard it lasts to about 3, but we'll see. I also asked the doctor about peanut butter and ours said to actually start phasing it in, in VERY SMALL amounts, rather than waiting to 3 and having the chance higher for allergies. Just a thought. Not sure if you would be comfortable with that idea or not. Go for the beans and eggs though for sure. GOOD LUCK!

That's a good thing in my opinion. Just make him a smaller version of whatever you're making, minus the meat. He'll be just fine without it.

I tell my 18mnth old girl "my name is Mommy, NOt Burger king"
what you offer for dinner is what there is NO alternatives...you kids wont lose 5 lbs over night and no one is going to yell at you for starving your child. They eventually realize,if Im hungry I need to eat. Right now he is thinking I didnt want chicken nuggets I wanted pb&j or whatever it is toddlers think they want.put his dinner in front of him and eat your food with him and try and refrain from telling to take a bite or begging him to eat. They CAN NOT KNOW that you are desperate for them to eat....you can offer a "dip" to make eating meat more fun but dont replace his meal. The "dip" can be ketchup, cheez sauce, ranch, or even soupy mashed potatoes or a baby food puree. last but not least, this is a phase and they will grow out it, you however are setting and example for the rest of his life. You ARE MOMMY! and you RULE just as much as you ROCK.GOod luck with it!!!

My son went thru that phase and still has days where he won't eat meat. I just continue to offer it, sometimes he surprises me and eats it. Now my problem is veggies, Dylan used to love them as baby food and now that he is 2 and on table foods he will not eat any veggies, if I even put them in his mouth he gags until he throws up, so I'm not sure what to do.

i would`t worry to much, he/she wont starve, i would just keep offering food to him and try not to make to much fuss if he/she does`t eat it. i find with having 3 boys that they change there mind all the time with what they like and dont like, it`s just something many children go through, give him time and the next thing you know chicken might be his favourite. :)

Will he eat eggs or beans??? If so I would give him alternatives temporarily. Wait a month or two and then retry. Its probably just a phase my son went through something similar and thats what I did. Eggs and beans are a good source of protein.
