My son has only 100.1 fever which the doc says isn't bad or (high) for babies ... should i give med or wait to see if it gets higher? he has been teething but for a lil less that a week he has had runny nose & when i picked him up at daycare they said he wasn't him self b/c he is a very active baby but he was really laid back 2day so i think its more that teething. i figured i would ask on here b4 calling and waiting for a doc or nurse to call me back ... hope to get some help

if you don't want to give him medicine, you could make a lukewarm bath and just let him play, if he's not old enough to "play" in the tub, just give him a regular bath, and some warm weather clothes....

I'd wait. The fever s there for a reason. 100.1 is nothing for a fever :o) I would want to jump the gun on the meds. Fevers are there to help fight off infections, viruses and bacteria. I'd wait until it was necessary or if he getting really whinny then check his temp and go from there, but I'd say wait til 102 at least. My ped says to not give until they are whinny, really uncompfortable or the fever is at least 103 or so. My ped also doesn't believe in medicated if you don't have to.

I'd just give him a little teylonal. It sounds like he's got a little something and he's not feeling good. I'd just keep your eye on him. If the fever gets higher after meds, then call the dr again. Hope your little guy feels better!
