When we went to the doc for his 1 month check up he said that he had reflux not really bad but he gave me medicine to give to him twice a day and i give it to him at the same time everyday and it seems to help but he still has stuff coming up in his throat and he pukes at least 3 times a day if not more. I think its from the meds becuase he never threw up like that before. I dont know what to do i want to keep him on the meds cause it helps him sleep but all the throwing up worries me. I also give him rice cereal to help that but i still dont want him to be losing weight...

my son had the same problem with reflux they had him on meds for a few months but i didnt notice much of a difference so i stopped he absolutly hated the meds. he just turned 2 and still occasionally spits up not alot when he was smaller i woulk have to bring 3 or 4 cbanges of clothes to go out for a couple hours and change his sheets throughout the night glad those days are over once he started on solids it slowed down alot so just hang in there

It may not be reflux. A friend of mine had a baby and they insisted it was reflux but all the meds in the world didn't help and he still constantly spit up and threw up. They finally when he was 10 months old got him in to see a GI specialist and discovered that it was a rare kidney disease that was causing his blood to be acidic which in turn caused him to have a sour stomach which made him not want to eat much and when he did eat it would come back up. He was just over 9 lbs at 10 months old and when he was finally diagnosed and put on the correct medicine he finally started gaining weight and making those developmental milestones that he kept missing out on. Now he is 13 months old and weigh 18 lbs. However it could be reflux I don't know I am not a doctor I am just saying that this rare kidney disease is commonly mis-diagnosed as reflux. Just throwing it out there for you as info.
