I have 5 kids and a dayhome. I have never had this much trouble potty training. He knows how to use the potty, he isn't scared of it or anything, he just simply refuses to potty train. I don't know if it's a power struggle because he has a 1 yr old brother and he still wants to be mommy's baby? We've tried every trick in the book, using underwear, all the rewards etc but nothing has worked. Any tips from people that have actually been in this kind of situation?

My son just potty trained at 4 yrs old! It was a long wait but he did it in his own time... He just had to be in control and do it when he wanted to. The more I reminded him to go the more he resisted. Some kids are just stubborn.

Iam having trouble with my 2.5 yr old daughter, she hated the potty so we got the toilet step ladder and now she is using the toilet. Good luck i know how frustrating it can be at 2yrs of age so 3 would be extremely difficult for all of you.

my child used be the very same too, just refused to use the loo, know when needed to go but would hide and go in the normal pants. in the end i had no choice but to leave him in the wet pants for few minutes for the discomfort to become annoying, after came to me for new fresh pants, would give a 3minute time out on the step (minute for each year since birth). i then began to time after a drink, after 20minutes would sit him down on the loo to see if needed to go and every 10minutes after wards if didnt 1st time around. he soon understood the toilet was the only place and became to go on his own. was easier to train him over night without then during the day! after 6months of fully day time training i began to limit drinks at night, none from an hour before bed time till bed time and loo before bed. then before i went to bed would wake him up and let him have time on the loo. this worked a treat and never had an accident at night time in the bed! maybe try something similar to what i did, might be what needed! good luck
