I'm at 22 new mom and have a beautiful six month old boy. Lately he's been, let's say, attached to the hip. I try and put him down anywhere, he cries for someone to pick him up. I warned my family about always holding, but no one listened. And now he's too use to being in someone's arms. It's worse trying to put him in his crib for bed. He's asleep in our arms, but once we set him in bed he wakes up crying and he will only go back to sleep if he's in mine or his fathers arms.
Please help me. I'm a new mom and i don't want to mess this up. I love that my son loves me, but I do not want him to feel like we left him once we set him down.

I know that there is nothing worse than listening to your child cry and scream while tears pore out of there sweet little eyes, but you need to let him cry. This strategy worked for me until my son was able to climb out of the crib. At bedtime, I rocked him for a few minutes and sang him soothing songs them put him down. He would get up and freak out. I shut the door and put my headphones on to block the sound. I let him cry for two hours but i would go inside and rub his back every 15 min so he doesn't think i have abandoned him. He eventually would fall asleep and I repeated this process for a week until he started sleeping in the crib by himself. The crying time shortened daily.
Once he figured out how to climb out of the crib, now that is a whole other ball game.
