My son needed xrays for the same reason when he was about 2 months old. It's completely normal for baby's heads to have flat spots or be mishapen a little, especially if they prefer one side to sleep on over another. He's almost 10 months old now and still has a little flat spot, but it's barely noticable--especially with his hair. Good luck!

PS--David HATED the xray machine! He screamed and cried and we had to use foam wedges to keep his little head still :( So just keep in mind that it's not hurting your baby, it's just incredibly uncomfortable and probably really scary. Plus Dave hates being held down lol

Quoting Laura:

My daughters head was misshaping when she was only 2 weeks old. The doctor said that it would grow out normally after a while, when she starts sitting up... I go to a different doctor at her 4 month check up. Luckily that doctor was concerned like I was. She had plagiocephaly no x-rays required or anything! She ended up having to wear a helmet on her head for about 2 months. It didn't bother it at all. here is a link about plagiocephaly if you want to know more and to see if this could possibly whats wrong: http://www.plagiocephaly.info/faqs/what_...

My daughter was the same she was a lot older when we notice it we took her to one doctor that said she will grow out of it, when she got sick a few weeks later another dr notice it and sent us to someone who made her a helmet to wear I think cos she was older she had to wear for nearly 3 mths didn't worry her just when she got it off we had problems cos she relied on it to headbutt things and relised when its off it hurts lol.
