My daughter is three and a half and still speaks in jumbled sentences made up of things she's heard me say and puts it all together in make believe talking I like to call it. She does however understand me when I tell her to do something specific ,and does it. She also can clear as a bell say " no I don't wanna take a bath" or anything she desires to protest to, she says please and Thankyou, and lets me know if she wants something but kinda mumbles and then says the thing that she wants...like, " mmmbmm peice of candy please" which I'm still working on but it concerns me that if I try to ask her what she did at daycare today ,she'll look at me blankly and say "yes" enthusiastically or if a neighbor pulls up in his truck shell greet him with a wild hi and repeat "that's a truck" over and over like a broken record... I've also heard her sing her abcs but if I ask her to do it shell only repeat each letter after I have...does anybody have any suggestions...?

Dont worry.children usually humm the rhymes,ABC's and every thing they hear on this earth,But when we ask them to do the same, they speak nothing. This is natual and it is also equally natural that kids repeat a sentence over and over just to make sure that we heard them.As a mom to 2.5 year old kid ,I suggest you to respond when they something over and over and in return start a conversation by asking wow!! than what is that?? showing something else.Hope this helps.
