My husband and I are seriously considering hiring a nanny/caregiver for our 2 youngest kids because daycare is getting to be very expensive. Has anyone or is anyone using a nanny/caregiver for their kids? How is/was your experience? How did you find her?

I just lost my nanny because she was going to school, but I loved her! She is a college student and I only needed someone part time so it worked out great. I found her by putting an ad on Craigslist describing exactly what I wanted. I left it confidential so no creepers could find us, just put the general location of our home. Then I screened through the resumes still not giving much info until I liked them enough to meet them. Then I met a couple at public places, again so if they were crazy they wouldn't know where we lived. Then I checked her references, which all cam back glowing. I work from home so I was here most of the time so I didn't do background and drug test, but I totally would have if I didn't work from home. You can use an agency, there are a ton out there, but that costs you more. If you pay them under the table you can charge less too. Good Luck!!
