Nearly crawling

My little seven month old loves to be on her tummy. She can roll onto her stomach from her front but rarely roles back as i think she prefers to be on her tummy. Just this week she has started to get up on one knee and use that to turn her self around to grab objects she can go round in a full circle, do you think that this means she is close to crawling??? Any ideas or similar stories???

That's so exciting :) It is definitely a step closer to crawling.

Jillian - I suggest getting a Jumperoo. It is stationary (you don't have to get one that hangs from a doorway) and since you say your baby likes to push his legs on stuff I'm sure he'll love this. My daughter used hers from 3mo - 9mo, it was one of our best baby purchases :)

My little one has been crawling now for a few weeks and that was how she started. She would get up on her knees and rock and then push hard onto her face. It took a few weeks to master the arms but she is all over now. Hmmm why did I want her to crawl again???

Now she is starting to pull herself up on chairs and the coffee table. Oh it makes me so nervous but you've gotta let them explore.

I agree, keep giving her that tummy time. And get down there with her, it will make it more fun for her.

I think he might skip the crawling.. some babies do... but I would really encourage him to do more tummy time... Even if he gtes frustrated... Start with one minute several times a day and he will eventually like it.. Crawling is an important stage of growing up and I think you should give him a chance to try. The walker is a good idea but I would not use it more than let's say a half hour per day....

My son started the same way your daugther did and 2 weeks later he was standing on all fours and now starts to crawl... She's getting there! Just give her as much tummy time as she wants and she will crawl soon enough.
