Need birth control advice....

Has anyone ever had the issue of bleeding non stop when taking birth control?

I was on 3 different kinds of pills and the shot and I had the same side effect for all of them. It was horrible. I guess you could say that it was effective as birth control because I wasn't having sex. It wasn't always heavy bleeding but there was bleeding every day and with the shot since it's in your system for 3 months, I had 3 months of bleeding.
I want to get on some form of bc but I'm scared now. Any advice??
My GYNO told me about the IUD but STRESSED that if you're not in a committed relationship it's not for you because of the risk of infection. I'm not in a relationship but I do not like condoms, they dry me out and I don't like the way they feel. HELP!!

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Hi hun! There are loads of differnt types of birth control out there you just haven't found the write one yet.

I use the contreceptive implant. It is believed to be 100% effective as there have been no reports of women falling pregnant while using it. It lasts between 3 - 5 years depending on the type used, so u can get it fitted and then not worry about contraception. Another great advantage of this contraception is that should u want to try for a baby in the future, you can have the implant removed and start trying for a baby the next day (often u have to wait month or so when coming off other contraception)

It is a small implant placed under the skin of the inside of your arm. It aches a little after its put in (area numbed first), but after a few hours u cant feel it at all, and can't tell by looking that its even there. You can feel it under the skin but is unnoticiable unless you are actually looking for it.

I have had no probs with bleeding all the time, i have a regular cycle, which i din't have before and my periods are lighter than they ever have been so far easier as well.

I personally would avoid IUD as they are painful and intrusive to be inserted, can cause infection and if not fitted to your size are not effective and can cause eptopic pregnancies and various problems, if dislodged. Even if the implant is not for you there are lots of other types to consider.

Hope this has helped.

Sweety I hate to say this, at this point I feel birth control is over rated other than the condoms. I was on the pill and got pregnant and after my 3rd kid I had my tubes tied and had a fourth kid. So if getting your tubes tied doesn't work I just don't know.

I have mirena and love it!! Although there are some side effects that i do not like, like irregular bleeding sometimes, im loving it because I dont have to worry about taking a pill everyday, going to get a shot (that will make me gain 200 pounds), taking a nuva ring out every month, etc. You do get yeast infections but what woman doesnt? Im not in a relationship, but i really am not having sex either so... it's your call honey:)
