I started giving my son real meals that fill him up. instead of that caned baby food. but my only problem is that i don't have many recipes for food. and I'm not quit sure on what to feed him. I make the same things over and over again. and I know my son is getting sick of it. so if anyone knows of any good food recipes or just any idea at all for a one year old I would love to know them..

Thanks Crystal

I recommend getting the book "Feed Me I'm Yours" It is great and makes it easy to feed your baby a variety of things.

spaghetti bolognaise/carbonara, fish pie, cottage/shepherds pie, stir fry, casseroles, basically any homemade dish your having just without the seasonings!

I always used a blender but that was years ago. Recently we got a Magic Bullette and it really is awesome. I wish I had had one when my kids were little because it's so fast. You may want to invest in one because it would be far faster than my blender method.

Here's what I did, I took dinner, whatever we had and as long as it wasn't a high allergy risk I just threw a portion in the blender and gave my kids what we were having. No second dinner, no real extra work. I always cook balanced meals anyway and they certainly tasted better than the jarred baby food. Hope that helps some. I also used to keep the baby food jars on hand and if I had extra I just would lend it so I had some for the next day. Best wishes to you!

chicken and rice with a sweet ans sour sacuce or a mild butter chicken sauce is great just chop the chicken up to tiny bite size bits or just whiz all the rice chicken and sauce together then heat it up or you could get mince and make a shepards pie with mash potato just brown the mince then add bef stock cook untill the liquad is reduced then add frozen mxed vege serve with mashed potato on the top with a bit of grated cheese...my little ones love both these meals.

if you have a food processor you can put meat in there to ground it up fine enough for him. chicken noodles is mushy enough to where he should be able to tolerate it! a bag of Reames frozen noodles, 2 chicken breasts and 4 chick boullion cubes just boil it all together for 35 minutes and nutrious meal! mashed potatoes and green beans and peas are all good for babies too! cut bananas up in to small pieces for finger foods and peaches and pears too! cooks.com has some pretty good recipes but it all just depends what you like!

Mashed potatoes, smushed carrots, chicken, pasta, peas. He's old enough that you can make him pretty much everything. If he has trouble with chunks just mash it up for him. Avoid chocking hazards like nuts, hot dogs, chips, pretty much anything hard and small. My daughter is 18 months and literally eats everything. The only thing she doesn't like is lettuce. She's never had nuts and when we tried taco shells that didn't work so we've haven't done it again. Just give him what you're eating.
