What method of birth control do you find to work well, considering the fact that I'm a breastfeeding mother? What birth control do you use and why?

I love the IUD. I had mine put in June 2008 and it's good for 5 years but you can have it removed sooner if you decide you want another child. It is recommended for women that have at least one child already. I had no complications and my cycles are regular and light and only last about 3 days!

I loved my IUD. If you average out the price it's cheaper per month to have an IUD. I plan on getting another one soon. I just had my daughter in April

When I was breastfeeding, I used the mini-pill. The mini-pill is only 94% effective, but regular pills can cause you to produce less milk, so I used condoms just to be more certain. My insurance wouldn't pay for the IUD or shots, but they would for the pill, so that's how we decided to do things.

i have te iud and have had no problem with it it the hormones dont go through your blood stream like the others do the hormones stay in your uretha and sometimes you wont have a period but some women may i went months without one so te iud is a good one thatsd my opinion though.

Well, depending on whether you want it to be temporary or permanent, I'd say a vasectomy is the best. Temporarily, I have found the easiest to be the shot. It's fast painless and lasts 3 months. I have had an IUD and it was a nightmare. They say it's very rare to have complications, but I would not recommend it to anyone. Mine became dislodged and pierced right through my cervix. The pill as far as I am concerned is a joke, I became pregnant with my first daughter while using the pill. They said that it could have happened because I became immune to it basically. I'd say discuss with your doctor the best alternatives for you. He knows what would be suitable and safe!

well i'm not to sure of the rules with birth control and breastfeeding but i'm a simple gal when it comes to the pill. i take trinessa once a day before bed. i also use condoms just for extra caution. i have been thinking about the insert that stays in up to five years that you can have taken out whenever you want more children. a friend of mine got it and she loves it, so maybe i'll try it, i say do what is easier for you. good luck!
