Well if you havent already had your baby, a great way is "castor oil" you can find it in any drug store, in the laxitive area. My doctor recommended this for many of her patients and successfully they had their baby's with in 24hrs. 4 people I know have taken it in the morning and their water had broken by the evening. Its supposed to thin the mucus. It is very safe as long as you are not under 37wks. It probably wont work! My sister-in-law tried it @ 34wks and it didnt work! I recommend you take the oil with some type of juice because it taste nasty! I hope you try it! Oh and take only 2 tsp. every 4hrs and make sure to walk it will make it go faster, so dont walk to far from your house! Let us all know on here what you tried!! Good luck you will need it!

hi, im not judging or being mean i was just wondering why your sister in law used castor oil at 34 weeks thats really early to try and bring on labour, if she was just over it i can understand that feeling lol ;) did she end up making it to her due date in the end or did taking the castor oil early help bring on labour later on :)

Do not do castor oil. I did it...sent me into a 3 day labor (real, non-productive labor). My cervix wasn't ready so the baby wasn't ready either. My advice, let nature take it's course.

I tried sex (everyday), walking, raspberry tea, carrying my 25lb two year old, bumpy car rides, pressure points, and anything else I thought might work. I was one day overdue.

What DID work was a nice warm bath. I let my entire body relax and mentally thought about contractions. I got out of the tub and within an hour I was having real contractions and a few hours later was holding my baby. Sometimes mind works over body.

Caster oil has worked for everyone I know.
It does give you the runs, and it might even make you vomit, but I went into labor naturally and experienced both the runs and vomiting on my own. It really depends on how badly you want to have your baby. Try walking up a few flights of stairs, or have sex. But it's ultimately up to the baby.

Good luck with your labor!

I have a friend who said that massaging her ankles actually helped her go into labor. I had never heard of that before. Maybe I will try it in a couple weeks when I am 39 weeks along! hehe!

I was told that if you eat lots of pineapple it also releases hormones that you release when you orgasm, I wish I had known about this because at that point sex was to uncomfortable for me.

I tired everything, and I mean everything! If the baby isn't ready it won't come! Sex (reverse cowgirl), pineapple, spicy food, baths! ooh and gin!

Now that I think about when I went into labor my hubby had an orientation he had to go to and he wasn't aloud to have his phone or leave. I was so nervous the night before that I think me thinking that I was going into labor the next day did work for me.A half hour after he left I was having contractions, luckily he was able to be there cause the contractions were light all day till he got home.

So I am agreeing with Rebekah here. Just keep thinking you are going to go into labor and maybe that will work. Cause I tried everything too, lol.

Labour will come eventually. :)

What did it for me was eating greasy onion rings LOL.

I wouldn't suggest castor oil, or you'll be pooping all over the bed when you're pushing out the baby, and things are gross enough during labor without the added poop!

If your doctor is okay with it, ask him/her to strip your membranes at your next appointment. My doc did it for my 1st, and I went into labor 13 hours later! It's really uncomfortable, but very effective. Other than that, grab your man, screw like bunnies, and take a lot of walks. Good luck!

My mom took me walking in the mall for about two hours she completely forgot I was pregnant. When I went home that night my husband had cooked sausage with jalapenos in it. I went into labor that night not even trying to he was a couple of weeks early but totally healthy.

How about....wake up at the crack of dawn, clean the entire hourse....do a ton of halloween activities w/ a big group of rowdy kids...then walk about 3-4 miles around a whole neighborhood until 10pm trick or treating...then stay up past midnight playing w/ sugar high kids...

Yeah that is what got me going big time lol.

Do you have an electronic back massager? If you do massage your lower back it really works. That's what I did and after 2 hours of labor I delivered a healthy 8 lb boy

with my son i was so desperate to get him out that i tried the sex method over and over and i found that if you go on top as awkward as it is and manage to cum let your man stay in for a while too after and it should help... i had sex at 11 am and went into labor at 1 pm the same day...

Is it your first? If so, then it is harder to do. But I took a long walk and broke my water.

I read online that sex is good. It went into great detail too. You need to orgasm and he needs to go in you and let the cum sit so that it helps soften the cervix. Also nipple stimulation. Online it said that those two were the only proven methods. But who knows. I think the baby only comes when they're ready. Or forced by the doctors. Even they can't always force em out.

I have tried everything. I tried castor oil, lots of sex and walking, swimming, squats, walking up stairs, pinneapple, tea, rocking on all fours. these are all things that people told me to try, I also was told about a pressure point on the lower back...tried that but it just caused cramping. I was due on the 21st of June. I am being induced this Thursday. I tried these things with my first daughter and nothing worked then either. I had to be induced then as well. I hope all goes well for U Good luck and God Bless!!!

I went into labor by doing the dishes. I think subconsciously, i wanted a way to get out of doing them and my baby decided that then and there was a good time to say "hey, i want out of here!"

Honestly, sex is the best. Not the best feeling (comfortable) but the best at home remedy. I walked as much as I could stand also. But we had sex and the very next day I started having labor pains. Then they just stopped, so I spent the next day walking. I went into labor the next night at around 10:30 and she was born at 4:42am. I went two weeks early...

This might sound weird, but my Birthing teacher believed in pressure points and she told my husband to be careful when he gave me a foot massage, because massaging the area around the ankle could possibly induce labor. I have no idea if this is true or not (I'm leaning towards not), but I wouldn't let him touch my ankles out of paranoia!

It's called reflexology and yes, it works but only if your body is ready. Message therapists are cautioned not to work on the feet of pregnant women for this reason. :)

I wasn't sure if it was true or not. That's interesting :) Thanks!

Haha..That is funny. I was the same way with my ankles. I wouldn't get a pedicure either. Then when I wanted him out so bad our good friend is a massage therapist and he actually did some pressure points on me cause I was so desperate to get the baby out and it did bring on contractions but not labor...So maybe it does work if you just do them longer. He only worked on me for like 15 minutes.

I would say give that a try maybe it would work for you, I forgot about them..lol

Oh man...I tried everything while I was pregnant and nothing worked for me. I was a week late, almost had to get induced but luckily he came on his own.

I tried sex and lots of it, I tried walking, raspberry tea, moving heavy things, ect.

The doctors told me that they baby will come when he is ready and that is the way it worked for me, unfortunately.

I hope you have the baby soon....Good luck.

Well, sex is good. Walking...

I don't recommend castor oil. It will give you the runs and it's not guaranteed to work. The baby will come when he's ready, honey. Either that or...ask for an induction. But I don't recommend that either. It sucks. :/
