New Niece - Am I being an annoyance?

My brother and sister-in-law just had their first baby girl. My sis-in-law and I have been really close friends for the past 2 years and I'm really close with my brother. I want to help her where I can and I know she needs to make her own mistakes. But for instance... she wants to breast feed. She'll sit for about 30 seconds and if her daughter is still fussing (she's a week old), she'll pop a bottle in her mouth and then wonder why she's not taking to it. Things like that... Where's the line between legitimately helping and being a nuisance?

Offer help like doing the dishes and cleaning or changing a dirty diaper. If she talks to you about her breastfeeding troubles tell her that the hospital where she delivered should have a lactation consultant that she can call to get help. If she continues to feed her a bottle and not really breastfeed then her milk will dry up. As long as the baby is getting something (formula) then you shouldn't worry too much about. Just enjoy being an aunt! :)

I agree with Sara...
also, please remember you are great as adult conversation helps a lot too! :) Sometimes it is just nice to have someone to talk with about the girly stuff! Perhaps even just ask her what you can do.
Hope you have an amazing time being the cool aunt :)
