With a super active toddler and the demands of being a house wife I find myself not having anymore energy to exercise at the end of the day...I clean and squeeze a shower in while she naps and when she falls asleep at night i cleaning up the kitchen from the dinner mess. By the time I finish, I just want to put my feet up and relax....but lately i noticed that i gained another 10 pounds on top of the 20 i stil haven't lost from my pregnancy....any suggestions...

I use Jazz Cardio Strength Stretch from google videos (it's a local access program around here). Why can you not get a work out video and let your toddler bop around next to you? My three year old does that- she even lifts 'weights' with her toy dinosaurs, lol. It would be a great way to expend some toddler energy.

Do it in the morning with your kiddo.

Okay, go to:

www.exercisetv.tv

click on the "workout videos" tab, and wallah! There are workouts for every part of your body, and you can click on "free full length" workouts - each video ranges from just 10 to 45 minutes long!! I love this site. There is a great pilates video I love. (By the way, Pilates is about strengthening your "core" muscles, and when I took a class before I got pregnant, I had the best abs of my life!)

You can get in a workout here or there with the baby around or while she's napping.

Also: I found myself caving to bad foods at the end of the night too, but now even if I'm relaxing, I always keep a bag of cherries or grapes in the fridge (right now I'm eating cherries! yumm!). So I eat good things instead.

Also: Always remember that muscle burns calories even when you're just sitting around. So tone up your arms and they will help widdle the middle! Pretty cool, huh?

I know, that was a crash course, but I hope it encouraged and inspired!! :) good luck!

I'm with you I have no time either, my husband is out of town so when the kids go to bed I crash too... I live out in the country so walking on these roads with my kids is dangerous and it gets dull and looks silly to my nosey neighbors to walk around the yard.

But somehow I'm going to find the motivation to get up and start at least yoga before they wake up. I could use some accountability though - if you want to exchange what we accomplished for the day (even if it's small!) let me know! :)

I have the same problem, almost. I go to the gym three times a week (I come home exhausted but, hey, thats what naps are for) and have been for about 4 months, and instead of losing weight like I wanted I've gained a couple pounds. Although they tell me there thats because muscle weighs more than fat. I guess the best thing to do is just really stick with it... even though I haven't lost any weight I definitely feel a hundred times healthier, and I've noticed a lot of improvements in my stamina. If you want to lose weight you have to burn calories.. do things like walking or running, or riding a bike.

I was in the same boat as you and my daughter gets really bored at home so when she does I just take her for a walk around the block. We go up to 5 times a day and I don't know what I'm gonna do come winter. In Minnesota it's going to be tough. It all comes down to realizing that if you really want to lose weight you just need to stop making excuses and that nobody can change you but you. Nobody is gonna take you by he hand and say "let's go exercise now". (Unless you get a buddy LOL)

you just have to do it. that's all there is to it. if losing weight is important to you than you just have to get up and do it even if you are exhausted. We are all in the same bout , we are all exhausted and just want to watch tv at the end of the day and pig out on snacks and that's not a problem in moderation but you still need to exercise and not just to lose weight but to keep your heart healthy for your child.
What about exercising in the mornings? do you have a jogging stroller? if not I would consider buying one and also a front carier like a snugly. you can join a morning stroller group with other moms. this will get you out and exercising with a support group. there is also dance classes aerobic like work out groups you can do with your baby in a snugli. I did that with my girl and she loved it.
