Time outs always work, but it is always hard starting it the first time. The time goes by age, so being she is one she would be in for 1min. When you let her out of the time out you have to discuss with her why she was there. If she leaves the spot you put her back and restart the time.

My best advcie Lindsay would be to discuss the subject of discipline with your daughters daddy and work out a plan of discipline so you are both consistent with her.

Time out works for my son. If he starts shouting or doing something wrong, i tell him its wrong and why, then i count to 3. if he hasn't stopped, he goes and sits on a mat in the hall until he has calmed down ans said sorry. If he mucks about the longer he stays there. It worked for me. and if both of u stick to what ever discipline u agree on your daughter will know where she is. She may still muck you about and laugh etc. but don't rise or respond to it and continue with the discipline unitl she has calmed down/ stopped etc.

I hope this has helped, and good luck x
