i was wondering how everyone else felt about organic foods for baby. i have recently given my little guy some organic snack bars and bananas (just because the store i was at sold predominately organic stuff) and i found that i actually did feel better about giving him foods that might be better for him. so i was wondering if anyone goes out of their way (or not) to give their little one organics and why.

We tend to buy a lot of organics but not everything we buy is organic. We stay clear of processed foods and foods high in sugar. Since the day our son started eating solids I've been pretty particular about the food he eats. I always buy organic milk, eggs, cheese, yogurt, veggies, fruits and meats. I like to offer what's healthiest when possible.

I am kind of weird about organics, all of our milk, meats, yogurts, cheeses, and juices are organic. Only the fruits and veggies that being organic makes a difference we get organic. Personally I don't buy anything with high fructose corn syrup in it, I would rather just buy something with real sugar in it.

I dont go extremely out of my way to get organic, but I do try to use it especially in meats and milk.. the verdictI believe is still out on how much it really effects a person by eating and drinking animals that have been given too many anitbiotics, and I really try to get natural foods, those without partionally hidroginated (SP) oils, lower sugar, and lower without artificial substitutions.. Artifical simply means chemicals..

My little girl isn't eating solids yet, but when she starts I plan on making it and since most of my fruits and veggies are organic, she'll get the goods as well. If it's better for them and it's doable, why not?

all though i dont necessarily make sure its all organic , i take pride in making my own baby food. i feel great knowing that in a few hours every couple weeks i am making food that actually contains nutrients instead of using that nutritionally void jarred stuff.

i do have jarred food, and we do use it when in a pinch or travelling and keep some in the diaper bag in case i am out longer than i intend to be as i know it wont spoil.

but when we are at home or somewhere i can keep the food refrigerated its homemade for my little guy.
